Boomitra's Regenerative Grazing Project in Mexico Yields Financial Gains for Ranchers
Boomitra has achieved a significant milestone with its Northern Mexico Grasslands Restoration Project, where ranchers are now receiving financial returns from regenerative grazing practices. The project, which began in 2018, involves 158 ranching families and focuses on restoring degraded soils through practices like rotational grazing. Boomitra's use of remote-sensing technology to monitor soil carbon levels has enabled the generation of carbon credits, which are sold in the voluntary carbon market. The revenue from these sales is shared with ranchers, providing them with a new income stream while promoting environmental sustainability.
