Tulsa Appoints Adam Woodard as First Emergency Management Director to Enhance City Preparedness
The City of Tulsa has appointed Adam Woodard as its first emergency management director. This decision follows the establishment of the Department of Emergency Management in June, aimed at improving the city's emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience efforts. Woodard, a veteran with 28 years of experience in the Tulsa Police Department, will oversee the development and maintenance of the city's emergency management functions. His role will involve coordinating with federal, state, and local partners to ensure effective emergency planning and response. Woodard's extensive experience includes serving on the department's Incident Management Team and participating in disaster response efforts for major events like Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Irma.
