Astronomers Capture First Image of Betelgeuse's Companion Star
Astronomers using the Very Large Telescope in Chile have captured the first clear image of Betelgeuse's companion star, known as Betelgeuse B or Siwarha. This discovery concludes a century-long quest to identify the companion, which is about two to three times the mass of the Sun. The observation was made possible through advanced imaging techniques and adaptive optics, revealing the companion despite Betelgeuse's brightness.
