International Labour Organization Launches Entrepreneurship Initiative in Yemen to Boost Businesses and Job Creation
The International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Taiz, Yemen, has launched a new entrepreneurship training initiative. This program aims to strengthen existing businesses, create jobs, and support economic recovery in the region. The initiative combines practical support for current business owners with the development of national entrepreneurship trainers, fostering a sustainable ecosystem for business support across Yemen. The training is delivered under the ILO’s globally recognized Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) program, utilizing its Improve Your Business (IYB) package. Fifty business owners in the Taiz Governorate are participating, with a significant focus on women entrepreneurs, who constitute 70-80% of participants and 80% of trainers. This dual approach seeks to enhance the management capabilities of entrepreneurs and build national capacity to support future business development and employment opportunities.
