Regulatory Frameworks Lag Behind Adaptive Platform Trials in Drug Development
The field of infectious disease research has seen significant advancements with the implementation of adaptive platform trials, such as REMAP-CAP and RECOVERY, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. These trials, which can continuously evolve by adding or removing treatment arms based on accumulating evidence, have demonstrated the ability to generate robust efficacy signals at an unprecedented speed.
