Japanese Game Creator Hideo Kojima Promotes 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' Film
Hideo Kojima, the acclaimed Japanese video game designer known for titles like Metal Gear and Death Stranding, has publicly endorsed the Palestinian film 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' on social media. Kojima described the documentary as a portrayal of a deeply painful tragedy and urged global audiences to watch it, despite the known tragic outcome of the story. The film, directed by Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, recounts the real-life ordeal of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, who was trapped in a car with her deceased family after being shot by Israeli military tanks in January 2024. Hind's desperate call to the Red Crescent emergency services for help, and the subsequent deaths of both Hind and the rescue team, are central to the narrative. Kojima expressed feelings of 'anxiety, frustration, anger, and despair' regarding the situation, stating that the world has gone mad, and emphasized the importance of people hearing Hind's cries amidst the sound of gunfire.
