VulnCheck Uncovers Major Security Backdoor in Chinese Routers
Cybersecurity firm VulnCheck has identified a significant security vulnerability in routers manufactured by Shenzhen Zhibotong Electronics, sold under various brand names such as Zbtlink and Wiflyer. Dubbed 'ENDLESSDOORS,' this backdoor allows remote control of the routers by connecting to command and control servers. The backdoor poses a substantial risk as it initiates contact with these servers, bypassing typical network security measures. This discovery follows previous concerns about Chinese-made routers, which have been linked to national security risks, leading to a U.S. government ban on their import and sale.
