Wilson College of Textiles Appoints J'Den Williams Tavares as Assistant Teaching Professor
J'Den Williams Tavares has joined the Wilson College of Textiles as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management. Tavares will be teaching several courses, including 'The Textile Industry (FTM 217)', 'Entrepreneurship and New Product Development in Textiles (FTM 310)', 'Textile Market Research (FTM 460)', and 'Human Resource Management and Leadership in the Textile and Fashion Industries (FTM 487)'. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in fashion and textile management, a Master of Science in textiles, and a Ph.D. in textile technology management, all from the Wilson College of Textiles. Tavares brings a blend of industry experience, having worked as an e-commerce merchandiser at Build-A-Bear and a senior product insights researcher at Target, alongside her academic career. Her research has focused on online purchasing behavior among millennials and the online apparel shopping experience of blind consumers.
