The couple, along with other residents, is pushing for a law to protect against sharp rent increases, which they argue are driven by out-of-state companies acquiring properties to maximize profits. The bill, supported by Governor Josh Shapiro, must be approved by the end of 2026 to avoid restarting the legislative process.
