U.S. Senate Declares July 25 as National Day of the American Cowboy

This bipartisan resolution, cosponsored by Senators Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), John Hickenlooper (D-Col.), and Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), among others, aims to honor the contributions of cowboys and cowgirls to American history and culture. The day coincides with the Cheyenne Frontier Days, a significant event celebrating Western heritage. The resolution highlights the values and traditions embodied by cowboys, such as courage, pride in work, and resilience.
