Franklin County Proclaims EMS Week to Honor Emergency Medical Services Workers
Franklin County has declared May 17-23 as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week to honor the contributions of its emergency medical services workers. This initiative recognizes the dedication of first responders, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, 911 telecommunicators, firefighters, police officers, educators, administrators, prehospital nurses, emergency nurses, emergency physicians, and other out-of-hospital medical care providers. These individuals, whether paid professionals or volunteers, undergo extensive training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills. They provide crucial out-of-hospital care, including preventive medicine and follow-up care. Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dean Horst expressed deep appreciation for the selfless service these professionals provide to the community.
