Consumer Reports Finds Carcinogens in Synthetic Braiding Hair
Consumer Reports has conducted a new investigation into synthetic braiding hair, revealing the presence of potentially dangerous heavy metals and volatile organic compounds in most samples tested. James Rogers, the director of product safety at Consumer Reports, expressed concern over the exposure to these chemicals, especially as his own daughters use synthetic hair for braiding. The investigation included testing 30 additional products, encompassing human hair, plant-based hair, and other synthetic options, to assess the safety of these products.
