Montpelier Man Faces Domestic Assault Charge Hours After DUI Release
Philip Mensah, 32, of Montpelier, Vermont, is facing a domestic assault charge just hours after being released from police custody following a car fire incident. Early Saturday morning, Berlin Police responded to a vehicle fire on Route 302, where they identified Mensah as the driver. He was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and subsequently released. However, approximately three hours later, Montpelier police were called to a residence for a possible domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers found Mensah at the location. Police allege that Mensah assaulted members of the home, leading to his arrest. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bail and could face multiple charges.
