Indonesia Introduces Digital Nomad Visa for Remote Workers
Indonesia has launched the Digital Nomad Visa (E33G), designed for remote workers who wish to live in the country while working for overseas employers. This visa, introduced in 2024, allows holders to obtain a one-year Limited Stay Permit (KITAS), enabling them to travel within Indonesia and spend time with family or friends. The E33G visa is specifically for foreign professionals with a formal employment contract from a company outside Indonesia, requiring proof of an annual income of at least USD 60,000 and a minimum bank balance of USD 2,000. The visa allows multiple entries into Indonesia without the need to reapply each time. However, it restricts holders from engaging in local employment or starting a business in Indonesia.
