Known as a Renaissance man, Kaleta was passionate about books, music, cars, motorcycles, and engaging in debates on societal and political issues. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary E. Kaleta, their children Amanda and Matthew, and grandchildren Liam and Margot. A visitation and memorial service are scheduled for June 12, 2026, at Ahlgrim Funeral Home in Elmhurst, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Wellness House or the Morton Arboretum.
