Dixon Resident Arrested for Threatening Local Official Amid Data Center Controversy
In Dixon, Illinois, Harley Delander was arrested after allegedly threatening former state representative Tom Demmer, who is now leading efforts to attract a data center to the area. Delander, a vocal opponent of the proposed data center, was charged with intimidation and stalking. The arrest followed Delander's social media activity, including a TikTok video and a Facebook-organized protest, as well as an email to Demmer suggesting he recuse himself from his position. The email reportedly included a veiled threat regarding Demmer's family.
