Nestle Philippines Integrates Biomass Facility to Reduce Manufacturing Emissions
Nestle Philippines is advancing its commitment to lower emissions by incorporating a biomass energy facility into its manufacturing processes. This initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to achieve net zero emissions. The biomass plant, located in Cabuyao, Laguna, utilizes locally sourced agricultural waste as fuel, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources. This facility will power the spray-drying process in milk production, one of the company's most energy-intensive operations. Nestle Philippines has already transitioned to using renewable electricity from hydroelectric and geothermal sources across its operations. The integration of the biomass facility is expected to further decrease greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing operations.
