House Speaker Mike Johnson's PAC Donates $250,000 to Colorado Redistricting Ballot Measure
House Speaker Mike Johnson's federal political action committee, American Revival PAC, has contributed $250,000 to Fair Redistricting Colorado, an issue committee supporting Amendment 86. This Colorado ballot measure aims to make it more challenging to redraw the state's congressional district boundaries outside of the existing constitutional process. The American Revival PAC, established by Johnson in 2017, funnels funds from other PACs linked to Johnson, which are used for Republican candidates and causes. The donation was made in August, with the measure set for a November vote. Fair Redistricting Colorado has also received funding from Advance Colorado, a conservative political nonprofit that does not disclose its donors. Another conservative nonprofit, Common Sense America, also contributes to a second issue committee, Brighter Colorado, which supports the measure. Amendment 86 is seen as a Republican response to a previous Democratic redistricting effort in Colorado.
