Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Pursues Acquisition of 650 Acres for New State Park in Henderson County
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is actively working to acquire 650 acres of land in Henderson County, East Texas, for the development of a new state park along Lake Palestine. This proposal is currently open for public comment until August 19, after which the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will review the acquisition. The proposed park aims to enhance public access to outdoor recreation in the region. The land purchase is in the contracting and due diligence phase, and TPWD has not yet released a timeline for the completion of the purchase or the development of the park.
