Registered Nurses at CommonSpirit Memorial File for Union Election in Chattanooga
Registered nurses at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga have filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to hold a union election. The petition, submitted by the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, covers approximately 700 full-time, regular part-time, and per diem registered nurses at the hospital's main Chattanooga facility. This action initiates a legal process for a secret-ballot election, allowing nurses to decide whether they wish to be represented by the union. Matt Brown, south region president at CommonSpirit Health, informed physicians and advanced practice providers about the petition, stating that the hospital believes it maintains a strong direct relationship with its employees.
