Utah Joins FTC Lawsuit Against Hims Hers for Data Privacy Violations
Utah has joined the Federal Trade Commission and California in a lawsuit against telehealth company Hims & Hers, accusing it of sharing sensitive health information with advertising platforms. The lawsuit alleges that Hims & Hers, which provides online medical consultations and treatments, violated its promise of a private and secure process by tracking user activity and sharing data with third-party platforms like Meta and Snap. The company is accused of using tracking technologies to send user data to advertising platforms, undermining consumer trust. The lawsuit also claims that Hims & Hers enrolled customers in subscription services without clear consent and made it difficult for them to cancel.
