Lafayette Society to Host Lecture on Liberty Point Resolves in Fayetteville
The Lafayette Society is set to host its Fall 2026 Lafayette Lecture on September 8 at noon, focusing on Fayetteville's Revolutionary history, specifically the Liberty Point Resolves. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the multipurpose room of the Tony Rand Student Center at Fayetteville Technical Community College. Christopher Thrasher of the Lafayette Society emphasized the significance of this year's program, highlighting a collaborative effort involving the Cumberland County Public Library, Fayetteville Technical Community College, and community members. The Liberty Point Project, a broader initiative, brings together historians, librarians, filmmakers, and FTCC students to tell this historical story through a book, documentary film, and educational materials.
