H2Ozarks Launches Initiative to Reduce Pollution in Lake Taneycomo
H2Ozarks has initiated a $615,000 conservation project aimed at reducing pollution in the Lake Taneycomo watershed in Southwest Missouri. The three-year effort includes a cost-share program for landowners, volunteer events for invasive species removal and litter cleanup, and educational workshops. The initiative targets four sub-watersheds identified as high-impact areas for addressing nonpoint source pollution. Funding for the project comes from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and various partner organizations. The project aims to improve water quality by reducing nutrient and sediment runoff from farms and neighborhoods.
