Severe Storms Target 50M Across Midwest & Mid-Atlantic
Severe storms are set to return Thursday across the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic, threatening more than 50 million people. Milwaukee, Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., face a Level 2 of 5 severe weather risk, with damaging winds the main concern. More than 165,000 customers remained without power early Thursday after storms caused widespread damage. The multiday threat is expected to continue through the Labor Day weekend, with heavy rain, hail, flooding and tornadoes possible.
