Italian Prime Minister Addresses Serious Car Ramming Incident in Modena
In the northern Italian city of Modena, a car ploughed into a crowd, injuring at least eight people, with four in serious condition. The incident occurred in Modena's historic center, and the driver attempted to flee after crashing into a shop window. The driver, identified as a 31-year-old second-generation Italian from Bergamo, was seen with a knife but did not manage to stab anyone. He has been arrested and is currently being questioned by police. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni described the incident as 'extremely serious' and expressed confidence that the responsible individual would be held accountable. The driver had previously been treated for schizoid disorders at a mental health center, but authorities lost track of him after his initial observation period.
