Indiana Medicaid Faces Overhaul with New Work Requirements and Eligibility Reviews
Indiana's Medicaid program is set to undergo significant changes starting in 2027, with the introduction of new work requirements and more frequent eligibility reviews. These changes are part of a broader state and federal policy shift aimed at ensuring that Medicaid benefits are only provided to those who qualify. The new rules will require certain adults enrolled in the Healthy Indiana Plan, the state's Medicaid expansion program, to complete and report at least 80 hours per month of work, job training, education, or community service to maintain their coverage.
