Trump Administration to Review AI Models from Major Tech Firms for Security and Innovation
The Trump administration has announced new agreements with major tech companies, including Microsoft, Google DeepMind, and Elon Musk's xAI, to collaborate on the evaluation and research of artificial intelligence (AI) models. The Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI), part of the Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology, will work with these companies to conduct pre-deployment evaluations and research into AI capabilities and security. This initiative aims to enhance understanding of AI's national security implications and foster innovation while ensuring safety and compliance.
