Frankfurter Buchmesse Hosts CONTEC Summit in Buenos Aires to Explore Audio, AI, and Publishing Innovations
The Frankfurter Buchmesse is organizing the CONTEC summit in Buenos Aires, focusing on innovation and technology in the publishing industry. This event, scheduled for April 21st, precedes the 50th Buenos Aires International Book Fair. The summit will delve into topics such as audio, digital distribution, print-on-demand (PoD), metadata, and artificial intelligence (AI). The Audio Forum, part of the summit, will explore the Spanish-language audiobook market and its global implications. Eugenia Bascarán, co-founder of ReadingU, emphasized the growing importance of audiobooks in attracting new audiences and providing flexible access to content. The summit will also address AI's role in publishing, with Michael Tamblyn, CEO of Rakuten Kobo, highlighting the need to protect intellectual property while leveraging AI's potential. The event is supported by Ingram Content Group LLC, MVB Latam, and Zebralution.
