Pennsylvania Tech Accelerator Launches Training Series for Disability Support Coordinators
The Pennsylvania Tech Accelerator has initiated a training series aimed at service and support coordinators to enhance their ability to implement technology solutions for individuals with disabilities. Led by Dr. Shea Tanis from the University of Kansas, the program focuses on a self-directed model for identifying technology solutions that align with individual goals. The initiative is part of a broader effort to integrate Technology First systems change, which prioritizes technology in discussions of support options. This approach, which began in Ohio, has been adopted by several states to promote meaningful participation and self-determination for people with disabilities. The training is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and involves a partnership with Temple University.
