Dulles Airport Plans $22 Billion Renovation to Enhance Facilities and Capacity
Washington Dulles International Airport is undergoing a $22 billion renovation to expand and improve its facilities. The plan includes adding over 5 million square feet of new or renovated space, replacing outdated concourses, and preserving the iconic original terminal designed by Eero Saarinen. The renovation aims to enhance passenger capacity and usability, featuring new concourses, gates, lounges, and a multi-story parking garage with 32,000 spaces. The project is a collaboration between the Airports Authority and United Airlines, with completion timelines ranging from two years to a decade.
