Proposed Triumphal Arch to Commemorate 250 Years of American Independence
The National Park Service has proposed the construction of a United States Triumphal Arch at Memorial Circle in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the nation's 250th anniversary. The Arch is intended to honor America's founding principles and contribute to the capital's tradition of monumental architecture. Located at the intersection of Arlington Memorial Bridge and Memorial Avenue, the Arch would serve as a ceremonial gateway and enhance the symbolic landscape of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. This initiative aligns with Executive Order 14252, which aims to beautify federal spaces and instill national pride.
