Historic Phoenix Building Transforms into Hub for Black-Owned Businesses
The Swindall Tourist Inn in Phoenix, once listed in the Green Book during the Jim Crow era, has been revitalized as the Afri-Soul Education Center. This center serves as a launchpad for Black-owned businesses, providing a supportive environment for entrepreneurs. Darlene Little, CEO of Afri-Soul, established the center to address the challenges faced by Black-owned businesses, such as lack of capital and mentorship. The center houses various businesses and offers programs to educate and empower the community, including youth entrepreneurship initiatives.
