SeaWorld San Diego Closes Due to Power Outage, Affecting Park Operations
SeaWorld San Diego experienced a power outage on July 31, 2026, which led to the park's closure for the remainder of the day. The outage, reported around noon, affected a portion of the park but did not impact animal welfare, according to Tracy Spahr, a spokesperson for the park. San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) worked with SeaWorld to restore power, which was expected to be back by 10 p.m. The outage inconvenienced visitors, with some unable to attend scheduled shows or access facilities. Guests were offered refunds or the option to return on another day.
