Segilola Resources Operating Limited Wins Three Awards at Solid Minerals Excellence Awards
Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), the operator of Nigeria's first commercial gold mine, has been recognized at the inaugural Solid Minerals Excellence Awards (SOMEA) 2026. The company won three awards, including Gold Mining Company of the Year and Outstanding Gold Producer of the Year in both the main and Mines Inspectorate categories. The awards ceremony, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, celebrated companies and individuals contributing to innovation and sustainable development in Nigeria's solid minerals sector. SROL's flagship operation, the Segilola Gold Mine in Osun State, produced 94,130 ounces of gold in 2025, underscoring its role as a leading gold producer in Nigeria. The company's commitment to responsible mining and operational excellence was highlighted by Ijeoma Ohiaeri, SROL's corporate affairs manager, who emphasized the company's dedication to safety and community development.
