Homewood Science Center Engages Thousands in STEM Education in 2025
The Homewood Science Center, under the leadership of Executive Director Edie Dobrez, reported significant engagement in STEM education throughout 2025. The center, which has been operational for a decade, hosted nearly 4,000 family members for free STEM Saturdays and facilitated field trips for over 5,400 students from 27 school districts. The center's programs focus on inclusivity, with a majority of participants coming from low-income and minority backgrounds. The center also ran summer camps and initiatives to inspire girls to pursue STEAM careers, with a notable percentage of participants expressing interest in future STEAM fields.
