Severe Weather Expected to Return to Plains and Southern States Late This Week
The Plains and Southern States are bracing for another round of severe weather later this week, following a brief respite from recent storms. According to The Weather Channel, areas from southern Iowa to Oklahoma, including cities like Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, and Des Moines, should prepare for potential severe weather starting Thursday. The forecast includes the possibility of heavy rain, hail, and isolated tornadoes. This comes after a particularly active period last week, which saw over 750 severe weather reports, including 53 tornadoes on Friday alone. The National Weather Service is still assessing the exact number of tornadoes. As the week progresses, the severe weather threat is expected to shift east and south, affecting regions from Texas to Missouri, including the Arklatex and the southern Mississippi River Valley.
