PG&E Restores Power After Six-Hour San Francisco Outage Affects 9,400 Customers
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) restored power to approximately 9,400 customers in San Francisco's Richmond and Golden Gate Park neighborhoods after an unplanned outage on Saturday. The outage, which began around 9:45 a.m., lasted nearly six hours and disrupted businesses, traffic signals, and raised concerns about the reliability of the area's electrical infrastructure. The outage was triggered by a protective device activation during a routine operational procedure between two substations. Initially, PG&E's system incorrectly reported over 120,000 customers without power due to a system glitch. This incident marks the fourth significant outage in the area within seven months, with previous disruptions including a substation fire in December.
