Quirino Animation Awards Focus on Collaboration Amid Funding Challenges for Latin American Producers
The Quirino Animation Awards, now in its 9th edition, are emphasizing collaboration as Latin American producers face increasingly volatile funding conditions. Silvina Cornillón, the director of the event, highlights the need for producers to adapt to new distribution and financing models. The awards, which have grown since their inception, are expanding their Co-Production Forum to provide more opportunities for business interactions. This year's event returns to Santa Cruz, reconnecting with the local industry and showcasing the growth of animation studios in the Canary Islands. The awards are also strengthening ties with Brazil, aiming to tap into its potential within the Ibero-American animation landscape.
