Son of Nigerian Immigrants Embraces American Dream Through Family Values
Chinweze Ahaghotu, the son of Nigerian immigrants, credits his parents for instilling in him the belief in the American dream. His father, who came to the U.S. in the 1960s, pursued higher education and became a professor at Howard University, while his mother also achieved a graduate degree. Ahaghotu, now Head of Portfolio Management at Galderma, a pharmaceutical company, reflects on his parents' aspirations to provide better opportunities for their children by becoming American citizens. Despite his parents' hopes for him to become a medical doctor, Ahaghotu found his passion in science and human health, leading him to a successful career in pharmaceutical research and development.
