Johnson Canyon Fire Expands, Threatens Portage in Box Elder County
The Johnson Canyon Fire in Box Elder County, Utah, has more than doubled in size, reaching approximately 1,600 acres. The fire is now threatening structures and has prompted officials to place the town of Portage under Ready status for possible evacuations. Firefighters from multiple agencies are working to contain the blaze, which is burning on both sides of Johnson Canyon. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Residents are advised to stay alert and be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
