Doctors Without Borders Updates DEI Strategy to Combat Discrimination and Racism
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has provided an update on its 2024-2025 strategy to tackle institutional discrimination and racism within the organization. This initiative focuses on integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles into daily communications and fundraising practices to eliminate perceptions of 'white saviorism,' neo-colonialism, and racism. Significant progress has been made, with new tools, resources, and collaborative structures now in place. The Task Force on DEI in Communications and Fundraising concluded its work at the end of 2023, having achieved its main goals. These goals included integrating DEI action points into medical guidelines and policies, implementing a patient/person/community-centered approach in program choices and project designs, and developing shared accountability through relevant indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
