Water Main Break Floods Westlake Intersection in Los Angeles
A significant water main break occurred in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, leading to extensive flooding at the intersection of Beverly and North Occidental boulevards. The incident, which happened early Thursday morning, resulted in gallons of water rushing through the streets, inundating the area and affecting traffic. Video footage from the scene depicted cars navigating through deep water. Crews from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) were dispatched to the location around 4:30 a.m. to address the rupture. The break involved an 8-inch cast iron line, which left 15 customers without water service. LADWP anticipates that repairs to the damaged water main will be completed by the afternoon.
