Google Earth Temporarily Enables AI Image Generation, Then Disables Feature
Google Earth recently introduced a feature allowing users to generate AI images from satellite imagery using the Nano Banana 2 tool. This feature was intended to help users visualize historical landscapes, create real estate plans, and more. However, Google quickly disabled the feature after users began sharing screenshots that violated Google's policies. The tool allowed users to transform landscapes by typing prompts, but it faced limitations such as not working at the street view level and producing mixed results. The feature's removal highlights the challenges of integrating generative AI into widely used platforms.
