Aloha Tower Celebrates Centennial with Community Events and Observation Deck Reopening
Hawaii's iconic Aloha Tower is celebrating its centennial with a series of community events titled 'Anchored in Aloha' on October 15-16, 2026. The festivities will commence on Thursday, October 15, with a blessing and the reopening of the newly renovated 10th-floor observation deck, which has been closed since the COVID pandemic. This deck offers panoramic views of Honolulu Harbor and downtown Honolulu, along with an exhibit detailing the tower's history and the harbor's activities. On Friday, October 16, a pāʻina will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., featuring live entertainment, local food trucks, and an aerial drone light show over Honolulu Harbor. The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) is inviting the community to participate in these free events, marking a century since the tower's opening on September 11, 1926.
