California Bill to Preserve Video Game Access Advances in State Assembly
The California State Assembly has passed the Protect Our Games Act, which aims to ensure continued access to online games after companies cease support. The bill, introduced by Assemblymember Chris Ward, received bipartisan support and now moves to the State Senate. It mandates that companies provide notice before delisting games and offer refunds or alternative access methods. The bill applies to digital games released from January 2027 onward, excluding free or subscription-based games.
