House VA Committee Subpoenas Oracle Health Executives Over Tripled EHR Contract Costs
The House Veterans’ Affairs Committee has unanimously voted 19-0 to subpoena Oracle Health executives Larry Ellison, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, and Mike Sicilia, CEO, following a contentious hearing regarding the Department of Veterans Affairs' Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization contract. The contract's cost ceiling has reportedly ballooned from an initial $10 billion to approximately $27 billion, despite Oracle's previous assurances to Congress that it would absorb any costs exceeding the original cap.
