Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Arrests Porter Man in Fatal Hit-and-Run on U.S. 59
Montgomery County sheriff's investigators have arrested Jeremy Michael Buckner, a 35-year-old resident of Porter, Texas, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident on U.S. Highway 59. The arrest follows the discovery of a deceased man, identified as Gary Belvin, along the highway earlier in the week. Initial investigations by the Splendora Police Department and the Montgomery County Hospital District personnel indicated that Belvin was the victim of an auto-pedestrian crash. The vehicle involved reportedly fled the scene. Major Crimes detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office worked diligently to gather evidence and identify Buckner as the suspect, leading to his arrest. Buckner is currently held in the Montgomery County Jail, charged with collision involving injury or death, a second-degree felony.
