Namibia Advances Airport Expansion and Airline Revival to Boost Connectivity
Namibia is moving forward with a major expansion of its aviation infrastructure, including the construction of a third terminal at Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) near Windhoek. The project, led by the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) and the national government, aims to accommodate increasing passenger and cargo demand and is expected to be completed by 2030. The government is also working to re-establish a national airline to enhance regional and international connectivity. This initiative is part of Namibia's commitment to the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), which seeks to liberalize air travel across Africa.
