Schroder engaged Writers Clique to publish his book, Urban Gardening, based on his gardening columns. Despite promises of broad distribution and professional editing, Schroder reports receiving minimal royalties and encountering numerous errors in the published work. Additionally, several promised services, such as website management and marketing, were not fulfilled. Schroder's experience highlights the risks associated with self-publishing, particularly the financial burden and unmet expectations.
