Educators in Western Australia Prepare Students for Defence Careers
The Cook Labor Government in Western Australia is focusing on equipping educators with the tools to guide students into careers in the defence industry. The Educator Professional Development Day, part of the Indian Ocean Defence and Security event, brings together teachers and career practitioners to explore career opportunities in the defence and national security sectors. Participants engage with industry experts and participate in workshops to better support students pursuing careers in STEM, trades, and advanced technology fields. The program includes interactive sessions like the Inside the Student Career Mindset workshop, which uses Lego to explore student career motivations, and the Effective STEM Partnerships Workshop, which challenges participants with real-world STEM problems.
